In an age of growing water scarcity and environmental deterioration, the answer seems to be coming into focus. Water remains a flowing source of life, yet its story has become more complex, revealing the difficult balance between people and nature.

Although this is a corporate showroom, it seeks to challenge the conventional, often uninspiring spatial experience and visitor journey. Taking the essence of Angel’s water purification technology as its starting point, D&M explores how tap water can return to the pure, natural condition of water at its source.
The exhibition strategy therefore begins by following water’s own perspective. Together with Angel, it looks back and asks: how can this clear stream find a new way home? How can the space become a starting point for a conversation about future health?
Since its establishment in 1987, Angel has sought to safeguard healthy water through technology and quality. At the time of the original project account, the showroom was open to the public in Shenzhen.

Water Environment Zone (Entrance Hall)
Perhaps we have not noticed
Once-clear streams becoming dark reflections
Disordered light and shadow intertwining
Dreams awakening in the cracks
Waiting to reveal the overlooked realities of water

The opening sequence sets aside direct information delivery to create an emotional connection. An immersive transformation unfolds from pristine beauty into disorder. A surrounding curved screen shows water gradually losing its purity under the impact of pollution. Industrial effluent, smoke and traces of human activity erode the virtual waterscape. The entire zone appears to become a body of water struggling to survive, evoking the depletion of water resources and confronting visitors with the crisis behind this disorder.
Lake and sky merge into a mirrored landscape, while concealed pipes, floor drains and wastewater outlets point to the tangled sources of pollution within society.
The narrative then turns to the rapid development of industrial civilisation and the direct effects of water pollution on daily life.
The presentation invites visitors to imagine the future and reflect on water’s indispensable, often overlooked importance.

Brand History Zone
Across the dust of time and the riverbed of history
At each turning point of innovation
Restless water no longer holds back
Its surging energy leaves a mark on time
Curved walls and flowing lines suggest ripples in time and riverbeds of memory. Following a trail of light, visitors trace Angel’s 37-year journey. Technology and time fold into one another, and every step opens a dialogue between water and technological progress.
A timeline forms the organising element of the wall, integrating interactive multimedia screens. Through touch and swipe gestures, visitors explore Angel’s history and discover key breakthroughs and turning points in water purification technology.

Core Technology Zone
A glimmer of technology
Penetrates each layer of mist
Through unceasing protection
The filter’s pulse flows like water, sustaining life
The design uses existing structural columns as visual anchors. Enlarged displays incorporate actual filter cartridges, while transparent screens wrapped around them simulate the movement of water. Bringing technology together with an artistic vision of the future, the installation allows visitors to experience the precision and power of Angel’s technology at close range.

Scenario Experience Zone
Accompanying life
Through the gentle language of everyday living
Weaving a melody of coexistence
An enduring harmony
The information density eases compared with the preceding zones, introducing a comfortable, clean atmosphere. After passing through the darker spaces, visitors experience an emotional shift that renews their curiosity. Spatially, water and technology support one another, expressing a vision of connected, mutually sustaining everyday life.
Fluid circulation keeps the focus on quality. A range of open settings connects comprehensive water purification solutions, from domestic living rooms, kitchens and bathrooms to catering, education, offices and healthcare.
The residential setting uses refined greys and cool whites to create an elegant domestic atmosphere. At the central island, golden light highlights product quality and character, while comparisons reveal subtle differences between soft and hard water. Minimal taps and filtration mesh details contribute to a calm, refined material language, bringing together everyday sophistication and the technological beauty of water.
Inspiration from above and below: the ceiling translates ripples into dynamic wave forms, mirrored by the floor. Movement and stillness are set in dialogue, revealing water’s dual character as both a flowing source of life and a quiet guardian.
Linear guidance and visual flow along the passage strengthen the spatial narrative, allowing visitors to encounter the brand at a comfortable, natural pace.

Policy and Production Workshop Observation Zone
Within the nation’s unfolding story
A quiet strength accumulates
Across the folds of uncertainty
To be renewed in the light of the future
Water’s renewal comes not only from the recovery of nature, but also from technological transformation and innovation. Moving through the curved passage feels like entering a fold in water’s time and space, where new vitality awakens in the flow towards the future.
An observation window with electrically switchable glass enables visitors to see production activity, bringing the experience’s surreal character together with the brand’s openness and confidence.

Environmental Data and BIBO Souvenir Zone
Time circles back to its beginning
Within this quiet, open space
Lie the original aspiration and a place of return
As the final stage of the visitor journey, this space uses deliberate emptiness to recall the clear blue purity of water at its source. It leaves room for further reflection and possibilities, returning visitors to questions of purity, authenticity and sustainability in the places we inhabit.
Continuously updated data communicates Angel’s ongoing environmental commitments and responsibility for the future.
A wall of collectible figurines condenses the story of water purification into a tangible memento. An Angel figurine is presented to each visitor as a souvenir.
At the end of the visit, an automatic door opens slowly and returns visitors to the starting space. Against the mirrored-sky backdrop, they can leave a like, sign their names and take a commemorative photograph.

With “A Journey to Living Water” as its guiding narrative, the Angel showroom consistently adopts water’s perspective. Spatial transformations tell the complex story of purification and create an experience with depth. Space becomes more than a container for information: visual design, interaction, light, shadow and materials work together to move beyond convention, evoke a range of emotions and build a sense of connection with purity.
