“The Interesting World” Installation II is an interactive narrative installation that integrates artificial intelligence technology. Using image recognition, the webcam in the installation identifies each audience member’s appearance, facial expressions, and the colors of their clothing, assigning classification labels accordingly. Based on this “judging by appearance” type of comprehensive cognition, the AI program employs a semantically associative algorithm to generate a unique narrative journey on a virtual Earth for every participant. This journey connects each viewer to people, objects, or scenes around the world that are, from the algorithm’s perspective, “relevant” to them.
