During the 2015 Beijing Design Week, UED magazine presented a documentary exhibition with the theme of “Ten Years, Ten Lines, One Hundred People” to record the development of contemporary Chinese architecture. The exhibition uses the time dimension as the main narrative line, systematically combing the media observation perspective of the Chinese architectural community and the practical achievements of one hundred outstanding architects in the past ten years. Temporality not only constitutes the core theme of the exhibition, but also becomes the origin of the curatorial concept – through the diachronic presentation method, it shows the evolution trajectory of Chinese architectural creation from quantitative change to qualitative change.

In the empty exhibition hall, a long winding table carries the representative works of hundreds of architects since the founding of UED in 2004. These works are arranged in the order of the generations of architects, forming a time-space dialogue with the important architectural events recorded in the magazine over the past ten years. This unique exhibition method not only constructs a visual development context of contemporary Chinese architecture, but also allows works from different periods to have a dynamic resonance across time in the exhibition space at this moment.
